# OpenXR

This is a quick tutorial on how get up and running using the OpenXR template in UE4 and UE5.

​NOTE: If you're using UE5 then follow this tutorial in UE4. 27 then upgrade the project to UE5. A native UE5 tutorial will come shortly!

Import Essential Hands into the OpenXR template project.

Replace the VR Template VRPawn reference with the one provided.

**If prompted** replace Anim BP skeleton. The animations in the animation folder might also need the skeleton replaced if prompted.

If you find the hands are in an awkward position move hands into place that's more fitting.

Now you can change skeletal mesh to whichever hand you want!
